easter ring

Easter wedding ring, handmade in 14K rose gold with a trillion diamond

This ring is probably the most insane ring I’ve carved yet—and I mean that in the best way possible. It is in rose gold with a D/VS2 trillion-cut diamond. I made it last year and I can’t believe I forgot to post it already; just had the draft sitting in my box all ready to go..

dragon scale wedding band

Hand-carved crowned Pear diamond solitaire with man and woman figures; dragon scale wedding band

I love seeing the photos my customers send me! Even if it does drive home the fact that my backgrounds are awfully boring 🙂 This photo was just sent to me of the Crowned Pear/Man & Woman solitaire with the new Dragon Scale band, which I was so happy to see since I made them and shipped them at different times, so never got a together-photo myself.

Dragon scales with a peridot & an emerald, the couple’s birthstones.

japanese peach blossom solitaire

20K gold solitaire hand-carved with Japanese peach blossoms and honeybees

This solitaire is off the rails, set with a giant gorgeous 12x9mm Old Mine Cut glitter-bomb of a moissanite.

20K gold solitaire hand-carved with Japanese peach blossoms and honeybees

The design is Japanese peach blossoms with a couple little honeybees scattered here and there. We wanted to keep the setting as open as possible, yet have the solitaire frame be substantial enough to securely hold such a large stone. A strong, delicate type, let’s say.

seahorse + cortez mabe ring

18K Custom hand-carved seahorses ring with mabe Cortez Pearl & ruby

This ring was such a joy to carve! This ring began as a design doodle that I never got around to really bringing to reality. Then I had thee perfect opportunity when a client brought me this gorgeous mabe pearl from the Sea of Cortez, and a juicy ruby to boot. And, she said, she would like to design something with seahorses! It was a perfect set-up for this ring and I think it turned out magnificently.

swirled, crepe-y carved pearl drop pendant

This pendant was inspired in part by Fujikasa Satoko’s sculpture. She makes these blindingly gorgeous flowing sculptures reminiscent of billowing silk, crepe-y poppy leaves, Loie Fuller’s dress dance..

The pearl is super smooth Tahitian with a cool greenish-pistachio color and lots of rainbow-y overtones. More images after the click:

my new shop opening!

Gin & Butterflies shop!

Hi everyone!

I wanted to announce the opening of my very own shop! I’m so excited!! Over the past few years, my business has transitioned to more fully custom designs and most clients have been finding me by word of mouth, google searches, Instagram, etc. It made sense to create a space to view and purchase my work that was not through Etsy.

Does this actually change anything in the way my business works?

Meh, not really. I’ll continue to communicate via email (or phone if you prefer) to answer all questions, get you quotes, sketches, etc. for the piece you are contemplating. I’ll accept as payment the usual paypal & credit card. Now, however, I’ll have the ability to set up your custom listing in my own shop that will contain all the information about your custom piece in one place.

One thing that will change is that the prices through my own shop will be a little less than my Etsy prices for the same pieces, as I don’t have Etsy commissions to cover.

I will continue to leave my Etsy shop open. Many people find me here, have links here, or are more familiar and comfortable with the Etsy platform, etc. There are little pieces of me all over the internet basically!

New Things

  •  Review/Feedback page: Previously, I never had a singular place to leave feedback for my off-Etsy clients. I made a review-specific page where people for whom I have made jewelry may now leave feedback (hopefully soon I can make it so you can upload an image too). Have I made you a piece before? I’d LOVE it if you left me a review! YAY!
  • Shop Policies & Information page for the fine print. Here’s the link.
  • Detailed description of how my ordering process works. (Spoiler: same as before for the most part 🙂 But I do function differently from your average online shop because most of my pieces are not already-made items. I make most things custom to fit and to your metal and stone preferences. Here’s that link.
