This was another piece I carved for fun from some random sketches in my notebook. It brings to mind Watership Down, a book I read to my daughter when she was younger and an extremely strange movie that my brother and I watched a lot when we were kids. We loved it of course, as we did all cartoon media; it had an excellent Simon & Garfunkle soundtrack, but man was it intense, bloody, and just plain trippy.

This is what one of my wax carvings looks like before it is cast (lost wax casting process) into gold. This one I made for a jazz singer in Berlin, and if that isn’t about the coolest profession ever, I don’t know what is.
