Reworks of older wedding rings can be a lot of fun. I started with a pile of diamonds: Giant light grey centerstone, plus a smattering of light pink, yellow, and champagne colored side diamonds. The new ring has a steampunk Jules Verne vibe to it with a port window in 18K yellow gold holding down the center stone.

This is a wedding band carved with a little swoop to fit up against my snake solitaire. The accompanying band is a classic style with a little snake carved into the inside of the band. 18K and diamonds.
I was sketching some ideas for fantastic insects, and landed here. And I love him! He’s in my shop, and is offered in 14K or 18K, white or yellow gold and you have a choice of stone. Here I have pictured an Australian crystal opal, but anything around 4mm would work: diamond, faceted or cabochon emerald or other colored stone, birthstone for example..
Continue readingI love LOVE this design. I’ve re-created it now three times over the past decade for three different diamonds and every time it’s my favorite.
This iteration I did more of a brushed/satin finish on the leaves and upper face of the ring, but polished bright the inside and sides you see above, around the bezel leading up to the stone, and the tips of the fluttery ginkgo leaves.
18K with a hair under 1.5ct diamond.
