seahorse + cortez mabe ring

This ring was such a joy to carve! This ring began as a design doodle that I never got around to really bringing to reality. Then I had thee perfect opportunity when a client brought me this gorgeous mabe pearl from the Sea of Cortez, and a juicy ruby to boot. And, she said, she would like to design something with seahorses! It was a perfect set-up for this ring and I think it turned out magnificently.

This is my new favorite shop design. YES: I have this design available in my shop as a customizable design—you may choose your stone and metal.

The one shown in these photos is 18K gold with a 4.6mm emerald of exceptional quality. I wore this ring for two days straight until I sold it. I think I need to make myself another one 🙂 Two days was not enough. Seriously, I am so psyched about this ring!

This ring is heavy on the awesome. The diamond came from an old family ring, and I carved it a new home: A poppy on one side & fritillaria blooms on the other, curling leaves and stems and openwork down the sides. It turned out great!

nuthatches & chickadees band

Birds! On a ring! These are very specific birds too: chickadees and nuthatches carved in gold, with a few diamonds sprinkled about. I love how it turned out; it was a really fun one to carve.

I re-created my Sea Tendril Pearl Solitaire design after my old mold broke down. I’ve had this design on hiatus from my shop for quite a long time, but I’m excited to bring it back and begin making these rings again. This one is set with a really lovely Tahitian black pearl that has great green and magenta overtones, and a light button-y shape.

This was inspired by the epic Black Crowned Heart ring I made last year, but altered a little to be more of an engagement ring, scaled down for more daily wear.
The stones are a center salt & pepper pear-shaped diamond, with an emerald and two periodots in the crown (the couple’s birthstones).
